Cease & Desist: How To Deal With Church Coverup

"For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known."

Since the Internet has become the town square where the latest scandals emerge, many pastors, ministers, churches, and others are exposed. From TD Jakes to Benny Hinn, many things of what they and others have done is now headline news.

Their actions are reported and they will do everything possible to protect themselves and their "ministries." Now, whistleblowers and others are coming forward to expose what others have been doing.

It's not enough to say that they we were lied upon. They now engage in silencing the reporters of truthful reports.

In most cases, it's not lying when you report the facts.

People know that if you say something frivolous, you open yourself up to a lawsuit. Now, intimidation tactics such as "cease and desists" letters is another form of trying to plug a hole in their ship. To stop the factual reporting of truthful information.

When ministers are caught in sexual immorality, drug use, pornography, and other sins, the Lord has been exposing this for centuries. All we need to do is look in Revelation chapters 2 and 3.

For years, when they do something, it's covered up and no one knows. Today, it all come out. What are we to do? If the facts come out, own it and repent. If you cover it up, you're lying which adds to the situation.

One thing we know when politicians want a story to go away, you address it, pivot and hope that itgoes away. You create another newsworthy headline to get the attention off of the scandal or you admit it, resign, and repent.

Why do they cover it up?

Money.

People will walk away unless they're so deceived, that they will not leave.

Jim Jones was a classic example of a charismatic person that people ignored the signs. For many of them, it cost them their lives. Over 900 were killed. Even with this tragic event, the same thing is happening today.

So when you're involved with a ministry that's too good to be true, once you do your due diligence to investigate, you will open your eyes to warn others.

Hopefully, lives would be saved.

But has anyone ever noticed that the Lord isn't deterred? The legal profession is powerless to tell God to cease and desist.

Additionally, when error of Scripture abounds, someone will point the error out and expose them all.
