Chat Room Adultery

I came across a young YouTuber that put his video out regarding the Internet adultery incident of Kris Williams, aka "Kdub" of "All Things Theology." "Kdub" has been called out by his church to repent.

For what?

Chatroom adultery.

Is it Biblical? Is chatroom adultery a sin?

Matthew 5:27-30 (NKJV) “You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not commit adultery.’

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell."

Proverbs 27:20 (NKJV) "Hell and Destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied."

All it takes is one lapse of judgment and discipline. You see someone on the Internet or perhaps a member in your church. You decide to hook up with the individual on the Internet and then the next thing you know, you've established a connection.

But you're married and you have no business "connecting" with another woman that's not your wife. All it takes is a suggestion from the devil and it's off to the races.

An unmarried or married woman has no business chasing after a married man.

Your real wife wants you to connect with her and she tells you to get off of the Internet. You get mad at her and next thing you know, to strike back at your wife with finding another woman. Now I'm not saying that this is what happened with Kdub, but it's a consistent occurrence.

James 1:14-15 (NKJV) "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death."

Then one thing leads to another. Tired of just seeing an image on the screen, you can't wait to have physical contact. An airplane trip. A long drive. A walk to a safe location. A restaurant. A library. A movie theater. A hotel.

Your wife is at home, waiting for you to get off of the computer, but you're online with Suzzie Q.

Several weeks ago, he mentioned that he had to take time away from his channel to pay attention to his marriage. Then after a few days, he resumed his channel.

There's a couple of things about Kris' channel that can't be put aside. He has worldly music that's cued up and he dances to them like he's in the world.

The point of using the elements of the world is to make a point of connection with carnal believers. However, there's a way to make a point without using the world.

I get it that he's trying to appeal to a young audience but we must never cross the line in certain places to make a point (see 2 Corinthians 6:14-18). We don't go beneath to bring them above. "All things to all men" doesn't mean that we cross lines to act like the world to win the world. Paul says to "Abstain from all appearances of evil."

Now many will say that I'm judging and I am judging with righteous judgment (see John 7:24).

I was saying that there's something wrong with "Kdub," but I couldn't put my finger on it.

As you mature in the Lord, certain things begin to stand out when it comes to uderstanding why you can't put your finger on something. You begin to look for the YouTubers to use certain Scriptures that's used as guideposts and alarms.

When you see that certain Scriptures aren't used, it's a tell tale sign that the conviction of the Scriptures is too much for them to use.

When you do use them, if you're in sin, you suppress the power of godliness and conviction in your own life.

2 Timothy 3:5 (NKJV)

"...having a form of godliness but denying its power..."

We all stand behind the light but when the light is turned on us, in shame and disgrace, we run to hide from the light that shines upon us.

John 3:20-21 (NKJV)

"For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

It's common to shed the light on others to avoid shedding the light on us.

His sudden return to produce YouTube videos was too quick.

Many of us were hoping against hope that his marriage didn't go over the cliff.

Sadly, he's seeking a divorce and has returned to this woman in communications on the Internet. While he may have not committed adultery with this woman, it's clear that after his divorce is final, he will pursue this relationship.

It's our prayer that he would repent and restore his relationship with the Lord.

Here's another thing. Should he resume his YouTube channel?

No. Here's why?

Unless he returns to the wife of his youth and not have committed chatroom or physical adultery with this woman, after a season, he could return but if he follows through with his divorce and seeks a physical relationship with this new woman, all bets are off.

He must shut off all communications with this chatroom woman.

He's disqualified from "ministry" because of the requirements of 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

Is being a YouTuber a ministry? When you're handling the Word of God and teaching others, it's a ministry.

Teachers are under a stricter judgment according to Matthew 5:20 and James 3:1 because how could you shed light on the others that you were exposing when you've been exposed yourself?

Matthew 23 is a stinging rebuke to the religious leaders that walked in hypocrisy.

The teaching of the Lord and the Bible regarding divorce is very clear (see Matthew 5:27-30, Matthew 19:1-12, Romans 7:1-3, and 1 Corinthians 7:10-11).

You can't divorce a woman except when she had committed adultery. We don't know the whole story, but this serves as a warning.

When it comes to divorce, the ONLY exception is when the husband or wife has committeed adultery. However, we could also throw in domestic violence which is an intolerable crime.

In domestic violence and verbal abuse, if a person has completely renounced their actions and abide lawfully, never to commit these crimes, it's a judgment call to remain married.

You don't stay in a relationship where the husband or the wife is abusing you and beating you up. It doesn't make sense to stay in a relationship where you're being physically and or verbally abused.

It appears that there's no physical adultery or domestic violence or abuse.

While Kris' Biblical critique of other ministers were spot on, we remember the words of Paul.

1 Corinthians 10:12 (NKJV)

"Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall."

Paul also said in Romans 11:20b (NKJV) "...Do not be haughty, but fear."

Apparently, he's young in age but he needed to be further grounded in the truth.

2 Timothy 2:22 (NKJV)

"Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

But nonetheless, his channel provided good insight to the trend of charismatic/WOF (Word of Faith) pentecostal churches. Reformed churches haver been rocked recently with Steve Lawson with his adultery and Rick Warren ordaining women and deceptive doctrine called "The Purpose Driven Church" in the Southern Baptist camp.

The Southern Baptist camp has been hiding their sexual immorality among their pastors, settling million dollar court cases.

That's why adultery could happen in any camp, denomational and non denominational.

We must remember that when we expose the sins of others, if we're not careful, how we expose others, it will come upon us. The same light that we shed on others is the same light that will come upon us.

2 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV) "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him..."

That's why Matthew 7:1-5 and John 8:1-12 is there in its entirety.

In John 8:12, many of us wondered what the Lord meant when He mentioned "light."

He meant what Paul mentioned in Ephesians 5:8-14 and 1 John 1:5-10.

Sin is constantly being exposed and when it's our turn, God help us if we're doing the same thing that others are doing. It's utter hypocrisy (see 1 Peter 4:17-18).

We must remember what Peter taught in 1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV) "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world."

satan is always looking to discredit the Lord, the gospel, and the Lord's true servants.

Be very careful and never let your guard down.

Always remember that the adulterous woman or whoreonger male is always on assignment from satan to destroy true believers.
