The Rapture-Day Of Atonement & The Feast Of Trumpets

September 23, 2025 was advocated as being the day of the rapture, but it never came to pass. Everyone that ever gave a date of the Second Coming of the Lord or the rapture were all wrong.
100% of the time.
But people will continue to set a date and be just as wrong.
But notice where and when the error of the coming of the Lord started.
2 Timothy 2:17-19 (NKJV)
"And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth,
saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Why were they all wrong?
Any man that puts a date on the rapture or the Second Coming of Christ knew more than the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit. That's impossible. Why?
Matthew 24:36-39 (NKJV) “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."
No one knew the day or the hour that the flood would come until it happened. That's the proper interpretation of this text.
It was only when Noah entered the Ark that the flood would come.
The purpose of the flood was judgment on the world for its sins.
Genesis 6:5 (NKJV)
"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
So it will be with the coming of the Son of Man.
The sins of the world is reaching the apex of the days of Noah and Lot.
Sinners today are going about life like nothing's going to happen as far as judgment is concerned.
Luke 17:29 (NKJV)
"...but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all."
What happened in Lot's day?
Homosexuality.
What are we seeing today?
A combination of the sins of the people during the days of Noah and Lot.
But in both cases, Noah and 7 were saved, Lot and his two daughters were saved before destruction came.
This is the basis for the rapture but many don't believe in the Pre Tribulation rapture and opt for the Mid Tribulation interpretation or End Tribulation interpretation.
Interpretations of the Word of God can always be challenged but Scripture cannot be challenged because it's the Word of God. The Word stands alone as final authority.
2 Peter 1:19-21 (NKJV) "And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
Sinfiul man doesn't have a care in the world and they mock the coming of the Lord.
2 Peter 3:1-6 (NKJV) "Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us,
the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming?
For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water."
Now there's a difference between the rapture and the Second Coming of Christ.
Where did the interpretation of "...no man knows the day or the hour" came from?
Israel's Day of Atonement happens when the New Moon is seen by two witnesses. When two witnesses confirm the sight of the New Moon, they would sound the shofar (ram's horn as a trumpet or silver trumpets that the Levitical priests use).
However, with our technological advances, we know precisely when the New Moon would be seen.
As a backdrop, when the Lord Jesus was on earth, He fulfilled every Feast on the day that it came. The Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Passover, which always happen on the 14th of Nisan, Then the Sabbath on the 7th Day of the week, then the Feast of First-fruits on the 1st day of the week. These Feasts were fulfilled in Christ on earth.
So the thought is that if the Lord Jesus fulfilled these Feasts on the Day, it was possible that the Lord would come on the Day of Atonement or the Feast of Trumpets. Study the Book of Leviticus chapter 23 and you will see that the Lord commanded the children of Israel to observe these feasts.
So I could easily see why they would assume that the rapture of the church would happen on the Feast of Trumpets but it's not Biblically supported to establish that the coming of the LORD OR THE RAPTURE WOULD HAPPEN ON THE DAY OF ATONEMENT.
Is it possible? Without a doubt. However uncertainty exists because we "...know in part..."
With regard to the rapture.....
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NKJV) "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NKJV) "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."
It's a different event.
This interpretation is about the church and not Israel.
The confusion comes when we try to compile the rapture and the Second Coming as the same event.
But here's another passage of Scripture we must consider.
John 5:20-30 (NKJV) "For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.
For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.
For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me."
The Second Coming or the Day of the Lord is none other than Revelation chapter 19, not 1 Corinthians 15:50-57, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12.
In fact, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 is a combination of all the events known as the "Abomination of Desolation" from Matthew 24:15 and Daniel 9:27 and chapter 12.
In fact, look at the 6th Seal that was broken, the 7th Trumpet that was blown, and the last Bowl that was poured out on the earth.
The Day of the Lord is summed up in Revelation 6:14-17 (NKJV) "Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men,
every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
This passage in Revelation 6 is none other than Revelation 19:11-16 (NKJV).
"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.
He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations.
And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS."
So once again, the date setters failed as usual.
1 Peter 4:7-8 (NKJV)
"But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
If we're still debating about the rapture and the Second Coming of Christ, let's agree to do four things.
Watch, pray, witness, and be ready.
Do these things and the rapture and the Second Coming of Christ will take care of itself.
