What and when is World War 3? The Bible has the answer. What's happening in the Middle East is no where near WW 3, but the Middle East and parts of Europe is the epicenter of conflict.

Remember. War started in heaven. Yes. Heaven.

Revelation 12:7-9 (NKJV)

"And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

Why would war break out in heaven. It's a place of perfection. A place of peace and tranquility.

When you see God, you see power and great glory.

Sadly, as created beings, we want that. We want power and great glory but it's not ours. We're created beings, so to answer the question, we search and open the Scriptures.

Isaiah 14:12-15 (NKJV)

“How you are fallen from heaven,

O Lucifer, son of the morning!

How you are cut down to the ground,

You who weakened the nations!

For you have said in your heart:

I will ascend into heaven,

I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;

I will also sit on the mount of the congregation

On the farthest sides of the north;

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,

I will be like the Most High.’

Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,

To the lowest depths of the Pit."

"I will" is the seat of pride. We'll see that pride in his heart was the very thing that brought Lucifer down.

The name Lucifer means "light-bearer."

In Ezekiel 28:11-17 (NKJV), we see that certain stones reveal the kind of light-bearer he was. An earthly analogy describes Lucifer.

"Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD:

“You were the seal of perfection,

Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

You were in Eden, the garden of God;

Every precious stone was your covering:

The sardius, topaz, and diamond,

Beryl, onyx, and jasper,

Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.

The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes

Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

“You were the anointed cherub who covers;

I established you;

You were on the holy mountain of God;

You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,

Till iniquity was found in you.

“By the abundance of your trading

You became filled with violence within,

And you sinned;

Therefore I cast you as a profane thing

Out of the mountain of God;

And I destroyed you, O covering cherub,

From the midst of the fiery stones.

“Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;

You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor;

I cast you to the ground,

I laid you before kings,

That they might gaze at you."

Lucifer saw that he was beautiful but he forgot that he was created.

Anything that's created is subject to the Creator. This means that the same Creator that created you is the same Creator that can remove you.

So in Revelation 12, war broke out and Lucifer convinced, by deception, one out of three angels to fight in heaven to gain God's throne. Evidently, Lucifer lost and he and his fallen angels were cast out of heaven to the earth.

The earth is now the epicenter of conflict between good and evil.

So in a nut shell, the Lord Jesus told us in His Word that there would be "wars and rumors of wars, nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom..."

The battles between man will culminate in World War 3.

Revelation 16:12-16 (NKJV) "Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

And they (the beast and false prophet), gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon."

Armageddon is "Lit. Mount Megiddo; M Megiddo."

According to Strong's Concordance-(Olive Tree Enhanced Strong's Dictionary) "In Rev. 16:16 the scene of a the struggle of good and evil is suggested by that battle plain of Esdraelon, which was famous for two great victories, of Barak over the Canaanites, and of Gideon over the Midianites; and for two great disasters, the deaths of Saul and Josiah. Hence in Revelation a place of great slaughter, the scene of a terrible retribution upon the wicked. The RSV translates the name as Har-Magedon, i.e. the hill (as Ar is the city) of Megiddo."

In the Commentary of (Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary) where "the valley of Jehoshaphat" (meaning in Hebrew, "judgment of God") is mentioned as the scene of God's final vengeance on the God-opposing foe. Probably some great plain, antitypical to the valleys of Megiddo and Jehoshaphat, will be the scene.

The Valley of Jehoshaphat is found in Joel 3:1-2 (NKJV).

“For behold, in those days and at that time,

When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,

I will also gather all nations,

And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;

And I will enter into judgment with them there

On account of My people, My heritage Israel,

Whom they have scattered among the nations;

They have also divided up My land."

Which means that perhaps, and I could be wrong, a two state solution may happen, but again, I could be wrong.

But the valley of Jehoshaphat is the battle of Armageddon.

Megiddo is located south west of the sea of Galilee which is 79 kilometers or 49 miles from Capernaum or north west of Jerusalem which is about 128 kilometers or 80 miles.

So what other Scriptures describe Armageddon?

Joel 2:30-32 (NKJV)

“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:

Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.

The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the LORD

Shall be saved.

For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,

As the LORD has said,

Among the remnant whom the LORD calls."

Peter quotes from Joel after the Holy Spirit came upon them.

Acts 2:19-21 (NKJV)

"I will show wonders in heaven above

And signs in the earth beneath:

Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the LORD

Shall be saved.’"

Furthermore,

Joel 3:12-16 (NKJV)

“Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;

For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.

Come, go down;

For the winepress is full,

The vats overflow—

For their wickedness is great.”

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!

For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

The sun and moon will grow dark,

And the stars will diminish their brightness.

The LORD also will roar from Zion,

And utter His voice from Jerusalem;

The heavens and earth will shake;

But the LORD will be a shelter for His people,

And the strength of the children of Israel."

The "sun and the moon will grow dark" is Matthew 24:29-31 (NKJV).

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

This is confirmed in Revelation 6:12-17 (NKJV)

"I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.

Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,

and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

So when will Armageddon or World War 3 take place?

At the end of the great tribulation (see Daniel chapters 9 and 12, Jeremiah 30:1-7, and Matthew 24:15-21).

Revelation 19:11-21 (NKJV).

"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.

He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND

LORD OF LORDS.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.

These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh."

So now we know when World War 3 will take place.
